Attended the Renew conference in Nashville this weekend. It was so encouraging to hear men and women press into the hard questions surrounding affliction instead of avoiding it. I had the privilege of meeting and thanking Tullian Tchividjian, D.A. Carson, and Joni Eareckson Tada for the ways God has used their wisdom and stories in my own life.
Biggest Takeaway: We are not always guaranteed an answer to our question of “why.” The answer is not the point. God intentionally did not tell Job the heavenly conversation that took place between He and Satan; instead of giving Job the explanation of his sufferings, God gave Job a thorough explanation of himself.
God is worthy of our trust, since the greatest suffering was seen on the cross, when God took his own medicine. May we count it a privilege to share in the sufferings of our blessed Savior.
